Whether you are a large or small company it makes sense to look after your biggest asset – your employees. Many companies are now looking at staff well-being programs as they are aware of the benefits of a happy and healthy workforce.
What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a system of massaging and applying gentle pressure to specific areas of the feet or sometimes hands in order to promote healing and encourage a sense of wellness in your mind and body.
Reflexologist's do not claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe. Reflexology is a very individual treatment which is tailored to the individual as a whole.
Benefits in the workplace:
By introducing employees to in-house Reflexology treatments, stress maybe greatly reduced, leading to increased motivation, reduced staff turnover and less absenteeism.
Benefits for employees: Feel valued by the employer, more relaxed, better able to cope with pressure and stress, convenience of treatment taking place within office hours, no travelling time and associated costs.
Benefits for company:Improved staff morale, loyalty, enhanced performance and productivity, reduced sickness and absenteeism, pain relief for minor ailments.
Health Consultation
A medical consultation form would need to be completed prior to the appointment and then handed to the Reflexologist at their appointment time.
While reflexology is an extremely safe practice it is important to be aware of a few occasions when treatments cannot take place. These will be identified and assessed during the completion of the consultation form.
Quiet space
A quiet and private room is recommended, however the treatment can take place in a more public area as only feet are exposed.
Equipment
Reflexology will take place on a Lafuma chair which will be brought into your place of work. Pillows will be used and blankets to provide comfort. Paper towels will be placed on top and changed after each session. A Reflexology balm will be used on the feet during the treatment.
What to expect (typical session)
Shoes and socks will be taken off and the feet will be wiped down with a gentle antiseptic spray to clean the feet. The Reflexologist will use a specifically designed gentle balm which is massaged onto the feet and then pressure will be applied using their thumbs to areas on the feet (or occasionally hands) working along holistic principles aiming to treat your body and mind, leaving you with an overall sense of well-being.
Recommended Treatment Lengths
A minimum of 15 minutes is recommended for a ‘taster’ reflexology treatment at an event, although treatments can extend through to an indulgent 60 minutes, we can tailor timings to your requirements.
Event Suitability
Reflexology can be taken as a one off ‘taster’ treatment or is ideal as a regular employee wellness package. Some employers also book Reflexologists to provide treatments as part of an employee fun day at an event.
Payment
Each company chooses its own level of involvement. In some businesses, each employee is fully responsible for the cost of their own treatments. Other companies chose to subsidise the treatments for their staff.
